Downtown Property Business Improvement District

Mission Statement

To facilitate growth within the downtown community and utilize resources efficiently.

Downtown revitalization will be achieved through:

  • Focusing on developing local business
  • Improving and renewing infrastructure
  • Increasing marketing and visibility
  • Keeping the streets safe and clean

History

In 2019, 70% of downtown property owners voted to support the formation of a new Santa Paula Downtown Property Business Improvement District (PBID). Through the collection of a property-based assessment, the PBID began financing activities and amenities that improved Santa Paula’s downtown corridor and enhanced the experience for residents and visitors. The PBID is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

The PBID also strengthened the voice of downtown business and property owners. It fostered the creation of a dedicated group of business owners who are ready and willing to advocate at City Hall for the downtown. As a result, in December 2021, the Santa Paula City Council set aside $50,000 for downtown revitalization and improvements. In addition, the City repaved Main St. just in time for the holiday shopping season that month.
